Full Steam Ahead for The Handmade Expo

Yes, thats right everyone.
2010 is shaping to be a great year for The Handmade Expo.

We are FULL STEAM AHEAD!



Ok, so we have confirmation with Queensland Rail and the Swanbank Steam Train that they are going to coincide their train pickups/dropoffs at The Handmade Expo on our market days. For those of you who are not aware, the train line runs parallel with the Ipswich Turf Club and there is a stop right outside the front gate.

Tickets for a train ride and souveneirs can be purchased at the front gate of The Handmade Expo...Bringing hundreds to our market every month.

This is a great day out...A wonderful train ride and before or after, head on into the FREE Handmade Expo for something to eat, a shop & browse of over 100 stalls of handmade goods. How else would you want to spend your Saturday...ONCE A MONTH...

A big thanks to Swanbank Steam Trains & Queensland Rail for working together in getting both of our fabulous Ipswich Tourist attractions on the map....That is what it is all about...

The owner and creator of Sybella is Belinda.
1. How did you come up with the name Sybella?
"The story goes that my Mum liked the name for my sister, but my Dad didn't, so it never happend and I have always liked it and I decided to use it for my creative business".
2. What sort of fabrics do you use?
"I have an obssession with Japanese fabrics for my small and large clutches. I also specialise in pendants and brooches with "old skool" images incorporating scrabble tiles"
3. Where do you live & do you have kids?
"I live in Ipswich, I have a husband and 2 girls who are very supportive of my creative side".
4. Have you sold anywhere else OR can customers find your handmade lovliness anywhere else?
HANDMADE HEAVEN is the only retail outlet that Sybella is sold at. In the next couple of days I will have my ETSY store up and running. All of my sales throughout the years has been to friends and family and word of mouth (which is the best and what we love).
5. Do you want to give Handmade Heaven customers and blog readers & followers a special for the week?

CLEANING AND ARRANGING FRENZY

Hi Everyone.

Last Tuesday, my husband, MITCH came and painted the extended part of Handmade Heaven. Now it flows beautifully and I am excited to show you.
Last Wednesday, my Mum (aka Bubba Chenille) came and gave me a hand dusting, cleaning and rearranging Handmade Heaven.
A few of us from downstairs decided to have a working bee as well and clean up the common areas, freshen it up a bit...which made the world of difference and looked amazing. A big thumbs up to those who took the time to help make it look clean and amazing for all of our customers...you know who you are :)

We have moved some things around to open it up and make it fresh...I am so excited to show you the change....

Well, thats all for now...It feels great to be back in Handmade Heaven and I look forward to what 2010 holds.

Our trip to the ZOO!!!

Hi Everyone.

We're going to the ZOO, ZOO....how about YOU, YOU. You can come TOO TOO...We're going to the ZOO ZOO.

Well, we actually went and had an awesome time. Australia ZOO is amazing and we recommend it to anyone that has not been. We took a couple of days to relax at the coast as well....Fun had by all.

I'm BAAAAAAAACK :)

Hi Everyone

I have been hanging out to post. I have had withdrawls and am so excited to talk to you all again!

I don't know where to start....I know you all love photos, so I will make the post short and sweet and add a STACK of photos.

I have tried to catch up on everyones blogs over xmas on my phone cause I just couldn't help myself.

Xmas day included lots of FOOD, PRESSIES, SWIMMING, DRINKING...LOTS OF LAUGHS AND SOME TEARS TOO...why you ask...well, when we were sitting down for breaky...Mitchell's brother, Andrew, proposed to his girlfriend, BECKY...So, there were the tears...I am also very privaliged to be apart of the wedding as a bridesmaid...

So, over the couple of weeks we had off, we moved, had xmas, had new years, , we went to a couple of zoos, the sunshine coast, swam at Mum and Dad's, hung out at home, baked, played, slept, watched DVD's....it was relaxing and perfect....couldn't have asked for a better 2 and a half weeks break.
